A 30-minute walk during your lunch break can save your working day

A study carried out by the Danish researcher, Cecilie Thøgersen-Ntoumani, at the University of Birmingham, showed that a half-hour walk three times a week can increase enthusiasm and the ability to relax, and at the same time significantly reduce feelings of nervousness and stress. The participants reported their feelings twice a day in an app, and the analysis of the answers showed that participants in the walking group experienced better moods than a corresponding control group that did not walk during the lunch break. In addition, the analysis also showed that the participants in the walking group experienced less nervousness on working days when they went for a walk compared to other working days when they stayed in the office chair.
